Stephen Rudin, MD

Dr. Rudin has devoted himself to helping children, young adults, families, and individuals of all ages unlock their potential through the experiential acquisition of transformational neuro-cognitive skills including Executive Function, Emotional Intelligence, Mindfulness, Resilience, and Flow as well as Creativity, and Antifragility.
His work has helped demonstrate that activities such as drumming, dance, sculpture, origami, tai chi sword, painting, music, and art can promote the acquisition of these skills in students who develop a growth mindset, practice and push themselves to solve problems in new ways. He has promoted the understanding and implementation of expanding these skills from consciousness to community to culture both in families and organizations, a road less travelled by when he graduated from Case Western Reserve School of Medicine (CWRU) and received clinical and research training in various CWRU, Harvard, and Cornell teaching programs.
He is the Founder, Principal Mentor, and President of renowned academic and experiential mentoring organizations and programs including Individual U, EFCNY (The Executive Function Center of New York) and Emotional Intelligence Tango.
A futurist in practicality as well as theory, Stephen has worked with myriad individuals and organizations to help bring the future into the present in areas of health, education and (nothing queried nothing gained) inspiring AI collaboration. He has helped to raise three cats (Mendel, Princess and Rosalita Felicita La Negra) and dances tango in Buenos Aires to prepare himself for AI’s singular emotional indifference.
Dr. Rudin coined the term “present future” referring to the compression of the present and future catalyzed by the 2020 pandemic, AI, climate crisis, blockchain, currency changes and political upheaval. To address these unprecedented times, Stephen developed the Curriculum for Thriving in the Present Future along with offerings for private engagement, podcasts, and collaborations for global organizational transformation.
In 2020, he Co-founded Cytokind Inc, a medical device company, anchored by bio-designers, harnessing narrowband UV-B (NBUVB) light to mitigate the SARS-2 Covid 19 virus. Five years later its teams of scientists, doctors and bioengineers are in the forefront of discovering surprising ways that sunlight might cure autoimmune diseases, including MS.
Stephen works in all areas of qualitative capital including re-gendering of wealth, the sustainability of the planet, spirituality, and the introduction of systems thinking. He is a nationally prominent thought leader, consultant and mentor in the area of intergenerational change, conversation, collaboration and transfer of wealth and responsibilities. His focus is on preemptive family learning through consciousness, community and culture as well as family crisis management.
In another of his contemporaneous lives, Stephen is a writer and author. Under his own name he was the head writer of best-selling, award-winning software and books including “A.D.A.M.: The Inside Story”, “The Nine Month Miracle”, and “The Human Body: Fandex Family Field Guide”. He is currently writing “The Prosthetic Hipster”, a resonant comedy of choice and challenge across the ages, “Unanticipated Kindness,” and “Light in the Time of the Novel Virus.”
In his “spare” time, Dr. Rudin is a disruptive innovator and hands on advisor/investor in sectors of impact in science, wellness, medicine, communications, culture and learning.
Stephen’s diverse personal interests and practices include white water kayaking, writing, humor, politics, theater, tai chi sword, karate Japanese culture, outdoor adventuring and Argentine tango, all of which have found their way into his various mentoring organizations and practices.
Stephen lives on NYC’s Upper West Side in a hobbit-sized co-op with an enchanted garden.
